Remember this mind-blowing episode with branding wiz Catherine McDowall, co-founder of the branding agency clarkmcdowall? It's back by popular demand, and trust us, it's even more relevant than before!
Helen! It's so great to see your note. How long has it been?? You are one of the great brand strategists. Your work at One & Only Resorts continues to be one of my all time favorite professional experiences. It is magical to watch a great brand come to life. I would suggest that brand can only come to life if the company has a strong experience strategy.
Interesting discussion. I believe brands are human, so strategies around brand and experience should evolve just as humans do... with them and for them, in emotion, feeling and storytelling. But, integrity and trust should never be compromised. It's magical, joyful, plus a lot of fun to help an organization feel and internalize a brand such that they can "live it" in creating the experience with ease day in and day out. Building culture is foundational to this -- not just attracting top skilled talent, but those who can identify in a real way with the company's beliefs and behaviors. This creates a stronger community, and companies who foster a sense of belonging through community both internally and externally seem to have a long-term edge.

I couldn’t agree with this more. It’s on all of us to cultivate trust, and experiences do that by listening to customers and delivering on promises.
